The idea behind Izzy
Light, stone and architecture in one object.
Izzy began with a simple observation: natural stone, cut thin enough, becomes light itself. What was solid turns translucent. Veining that lay hidden inside a mountain for millions of years suddenly reads like a drawing.
We build monumental objects around that moment. Each sculpture is conceived at the scale of the architecture it inhabits — a presence by day, a source of light by night. Never decoration. Always a structure in its own right.

Most Izzy objects begin as a drawing on someone else's plan. We work with architects and interior designers to develop monumental objects in natural stone that exist only once — in one room, in one block of marble, at one scale.

The stone
Millions of years, lit from within
Every block is selected by hand for how it behaves against light. Sliced to a few millimetres and stabilised, the stone becomes translucent without losing its geology — the veins turn amber, the crystal structure appears.

We study the room, the ceiling, the sightlines and the daylight.

Drawings and stone samples establish scale, proportion and character.

The stone is cut, framed in steel and illuminated by hand in our workshop.
